DNC Workers at Yosemite National Park
Sent to us by one of our readers...Please Read !
Dear Reel News Staff
Me and a lot of my co workers are at serious risk of losing our health insurance that we have had as a direct result of the government shutdown that happened in October. Because we will not meet the required number of hours worked per quarter since we did not work for nearly three weeks. We work for DNC at Yosemite which runs the concessions in Yosemite National Park but we do not work for the federal government. All the company has to do is sign a waiver saying that the month of October will not be counted against us and yet they are not willing to do this simple act. Instead we will be punished for something that is not our fault because DNC at Yosemite Does Not Care about it’s employees.. As soon as we came back from the government shutdown they began cutting hours even more which put us in a worse position and increased the number of people who will lose there health insurance in January.
There are married couples that are due to have children as well as those with disability’s that are counting on the health insurance that they have had for years. Which is about to be taking away. This is wrong and pisses me off. Because this is just one out of many things that they have done that show that DNC at Yosemite stands for Does Not Care about Yosemite and it’s employees. We have tried getting over three hundred signatures on a petition and appealing directly to the President of the company Mr. Dan Jensen and going to the local union 19 which did not do much. This makes me mad as heck because we are being punished for something that is not our fault and everyone knows it’s wrong and yet no one will stop it.
Sincerely yours,
Yosemite Jon

Widow faces eviction in Cape Coral, Florida FOR ‘LIVING OFF THE GRID’
Robin Speronis told WFTX-TV that she was given an eviction notice after the station aired a story about how she chooses to live in a home without modern amenities, such as running water and electricity
“A code enforcement officer came, knocked on the door then posts a placard that says uninhabitable property, do not enter,” Robin said.
“Putting a woman who lives by herself, who is a widow, out on the street without any due process of law is unfathomable,” she added.
According to WFTX-TV, the notice cited international property maintenance code which said the property is not safe to live in.
Speronis, however, disputes such claims and wonders how a code enforcement officer would know without even entering the house. Now, she is speaking out demanding justice.
“I’m going to bring this to the attention of anyone who will listen until justice is served,” she said.
“Where is the justice? Why did they choose me,” she asked, “I was exercising my First Amendment rights of free speech in discussing living off the grid.”
A local attorney has decided to represent Speronis for free, according to WFTX-TV.

DISNEY DIMINISHES JESUS’ IMPORTANCE FROM ANNUAL CHRISTMAS SHOW
From Glenn Beck's - The Blaze

Is Disney really removing Christ from its traditional Christmas show — or at the least watering down the traditional story of the Jesus’ life and birth?

That’s the claim coming from a number of tips to TheBlaze, which purport that Disney’s “Candlelight Processional,” an annual show at Epcot and Disneyland that tells “the biblical tale of a savior born to a virgin in Bethlehem,” has been amended and sanitized to diminish some of its Christian message.
At the center of the contention is the removal of “One Solitary Life,” an essay that has been read during the “Candlelight Processional” since 1976. This overtly Christian text, written by Dr. James Allan Francis in 1926, details Jesus’ life, death and historical impact.
It culminates with the following words: “Nineteen centuries have come and gone, And today Jesus is the central figure of the human race, And the leader of mankind’s progress, All the armies that have ever marched, All the navies that have ever sailed, All the parliaments that have ever sat, All the kings that ever reigned put together, Have not affected the life of mankind on earth, As powerfully as that one solitary life.”
Considering the cutting of the essay and the tips we’ve been receiving, TheBlaze decided to explore the issue further, so we reached out to Disney and asked why “One Solitary Life” is no longer a part of the show.
The essay has been recited to complement the traditional biblical story of Jesus’ birth since 1976, making its recent removal more than noticeable.
But demand for the show and production constraints have apparently created a need, according to Disney, to shave time off of each performance so that the cast and crew can properly prepare for the three back-to-back performances that unfold each night during the holiday season.
Rather than an attack on the Christian message inherent in the show, Disney said the decision was all about logistics.
‘”Candlelight Processional’ is a longstanding tradition, and we regularly review and adjust various elements of the program to deliver a great guest experience that meets our operational needs,” said Disney spokesman Bryan M. Malenius.
Operationally, Disney said that the show was running long and that there was a need to remove the essay and replace it with something that would be a bit shorter in length.
While the new text refers to Jesus as “the blessed babe in a manger,” there are no mentions of Christ’s death. That said, the tone certainly aligns with the traditional Christmas story, though the more general text will likely not be as pleasing to those who enjoyed the hard-hitting spiritual nature inherent in “One Solitary Life.”
Arguably, it lacks the same biblical strength. Most noticeably, there’s the fact that “One Solitary Life” positions Jesus as “the central figure of the human race” — something that the new wording doesn’t quite accomplish.
“Heavenly peace… It is a gift bestowed upon us all during this special time of year. Tonight, people around the world mark this joyful season with heartfelt sentiment,” the new text reads. “As we each treasure our unique holiday traditions of family, faith, and culture, let us join together in celebrating the birth of the blessed babe in a manger, and rejoice in the universal message of peace on earth and goodwill toward men. Joy to the World!”
Comparatively, “One Solitary Life” spans 221 words and the new wording is just 78 words, so the goal of shortening the show via replacement text was met, Disney said. Both the essay and the new wording were, in context of the rest of the show, a very small proportion of the “Candlelight Processional.”
“One Solitary Life” wasn’t the only casualty this year. The song “Do You Hear What I Hear” was also cut from the event.

While some might point to the amended language as definitive evidence that Disney is trying to diminish the Christian undertones of the “Candlelight Processional,” the show is comprised mainly of Bible verses recounting the entire story of Jesus’ birth.
Thus, without Jesus or the Christian message, there would very literally be no “Candlelight Processional.” Still, a critique centered upon an absence of Jesus as the centerpiece of the world does hold some validity.
Scriptures are read in the Disney show verbatim from the English Standard Version of the Bible. Luke 1:26-31, Luke 2:1-18, Matthew 2:1-2, 10, Matthew 2:9, 11 and Isaiah 9:6 are all read aloud. In these verses, Jesus is still referred to as “Christ the Lord.”
Isaiah 9:6 provides what very well may be the strongest remaining spiritual language in the “Candlelight Procession.” It reads, “For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given. And the government shall be upon His shoulders, and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, the mighty God, the everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace.”
In the end, Disney repeatedly denied that alleged complaints over Christian content led to the removal of the popular Christian essay and reiterated numerous times that the changes to the show were — and have always been — related to production and the continued push for a quality public performance.
“Candlelight is a Disney tradition that dates back to Walt Disney himself and has been a guest favorite since 1958,” the company told TheBlaze.
The “Candlelight Processional” is running from Nov. 29 to Dec. 30 this year, with each show filling up the 1,800-seat America Gardens Theater at Epcot; it is also a popular fixture at Disneyland, where it is limited to a two-day showing.

Republican Senator Ted Cruz walks out on Raul Castro's speech at Mandela memorial !
Republican Senator Ted Cruz, part of a Congressional delegation at Nelson Mandela's memorial service, walked out of the service Tuesday when Cuban Dictator Raul Castro started speaking.
Cruz’s communications director, Sean Rushton, told National Review that the GOP senator “very much hopes Castro learns the lessons of Nelson Mandela.”
“For decades, Castro has wrongly imprisoned and tortured countless innocents. Just as Mandela was released after 27 years in prison, Castro should finally release his political prisoners; he should hold free elections, and once and for all set the Cuban people free,” he added.
President Barack Obama made some waves earlier in the day when he was photographed smiling and shaking hands with Castro before the memorial service. The White House said the interaction was not planned and no substantive discussion occurred.
Cruz’s father, Rafael Cruz, fled Cuba and the ruthless Fidel Castro regime when he was just a teenager. He came to the United States and fell in love with the country.

Happy Birthday Grace Hopper American Computer Scientist - Commodore Grace M. Hopper, USN
Developed the first Compiler for a Computer Programming Language
Grace Murray Hopper (December 9, 1906 – January 1, 1992) was an American computer scientist and United States Navy Rear Admiral. A pioneer in the field, she was one of the first programmers of the Harvard Mark I computer, and developed the first compiler for a computer programming language. She conceptualized the idea of machine-independent programming languages, which led to the development of COBOL, one of the first modern programming languages. She is credited with popularizing the term "debugging" for fixing computer glitches (inspired by an actual moth removed from the computer). Owing to the breadth of her accomplishments and her naval rank, she is sometimes referred to as "Amazing Grace". The U.S. Navy destroyer USS Hopper (DDG-70) is named for her, as was the Cray XE6 "Hopper" supercomputer at NERSC.
Early life and education
Hopper was born Grace Brewster Murray in New York City. She was the oldest in a family of three children. She was curious as a child, a lifelong trait; at the age of seven she decided to determine how an alarm clock worked, and dismantled seven alarm clocks before her mother realized what she was doing (she was then limited to one clock). For her preparatory school education, she attended the Hartridge School in Plainfield, New Jersey. Rejected for early admission to Vassar College at age 16 (her test scores in Latin were too low), she was admitted the following year. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Vassar in 1928 with a bachelor's degree in mathematics and physics and earned her Master's degree at Yale University in 1930.
In 1934, she earned a Ph.D. in mathematics from Yale under the direction of Øystein Ore. Her dissertation, New Types of Irreducibility Criteria, was published that same year. Hopper began teaching mathematics at Vassar in 1931, and was promoted to associate professor in 1941. She was married to New York University professor Vincent Foster Hopper (1906–76 from 1930 until their divorce in 1945. She never remarried, and she kept his surname.
World War II
In 1943, during World War II, Hopper obtained a leave of absence from Vassar and was sworn into the United States Navy Reserve, one of many women to volunteer to serve in the WAVES. She had to get an exemption to enlist; she was 15 pounds (6.8 kg) below the Navy minimum weight of 120 pounds (54 kg). She reported in December and trained at the Naval Reserve Midshipmen's School at Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts. Hopper graduated first in her class in 1944, and was assigned to the Bureau of Ships Computation Project at Harvard University as a lieutenant, junior grade. She served on the Mark I computer programming staff headed by Howard H. Aiken. Hopper and Aiken coauthored three papers on the Mark I, also known as the Automatic Sequence Controlled Calculator. Hopper's request to transfer to the regular Navy at the end of the war was declined due to her age . She continued to serve in the Navy Reserve. Hopper remained at the Harvard Computation Lab until 1949, turning down a full professorship at Vassar in favor of working as a research fellow under a Navy contract at Harvard.
COBOL
In the spring of 1959, a two-day conference known as the Conference on Data Systems Languages (CODASYL) brought together computer experts from industry and government. Hopper served as the technical consultant to the committee, and many of her former employees served on the short-term committee that defined the new language COBOL (an acronym for COmmon Business-Oriented Language). The new language extended Hopper's FLOW-MATIC language with some ideas from the IBM equivalent, COMTRAN. Hopper's belief that programs should be written in a language that was close to English rather than in machine code or languages close to machine code (such as assembly language) was captured in the new business language, and COBOL would go on to be the most ubiquitous business language to date.
From 1967 to 1977, Hopper served as the director of the Navy Programming Languages Group in the Navy's Office of Information Systems Planning and was promoted to the rank of captain in 1973. She developed validation software for COBOL and its compiler as part of a COBOL standardization program for the entire Navy.

Fox reporter challenges State Dept. on lies over secret Iran talks
A body language expert could have a field day analyzing the reaction of the State Department spokeswoman as she fumbled her way through pointed questions from a Fox News reporter on why reporters were lied to about the years long secret negotiations with Iran.
Spokeswoman Jen Psaki kept breaking into odd, beaming smiles as Fox’s Chief Washington Correspondent James Rosen pressed her on why the State Department continually denied the Obama administration was engaged in secret talks with Iran over its nuclear program, reportedly since 2011.

Train derailment kills 4 in NYC
NEW YORK - Four people were killed and more than 60 were injured Sunday when a Metro-North commuter train derailed in the Bronx.
The Fire Department of New York also said about 50 units and 135 firefighters were at the derailment location just north of the Spuyten Duyvil station working to get passengers and crew out of the train.
Five of the southbound train's seven cars derailed in an area along the Hudson River and Sputen Duyvil just north of Manhattan, according to the Metropolitan Transportation Authority.
The seven-car train originated at 6:54 a.m. in Poughkeepsie, one of New York City's northern suburbs, according to the MTA. The derailment forced a suspension of all service on the MTA's Hudson line between Grand Central Station in Manhattan and the Croton Harmon station in Westchester County, a northern suburb.
The New York City Police Department declared a "level-three mobilization" -- a somewhat-common alert for a serious incident -- sending officers from across the Bronx to the derailment scene.
The Associated Press, quoting a woman at the scene, initially said that some cars of the Metro-North passenger train toppled into water. Edwin Valero told AP he was in an apartment building above the accident scene when the train derailed. He said none of the cars went into the water where the Harlem River meets the Hudson, but at least one ended up a few feet from the edge.
Spuyten Duyvil is a neighborhood in the Bronx. Metro-North's Hudson line serves New York City and Westchester, Putnam, and Dutchess counties, ending in Poughkeepsie.
The Metro-North noted the incident on its website with a note that "Hudson Line Customers will experience indefinite delays south of Croton Harmon. More information will be provided as it is obtained."

A Supporter of Obamacare - MEGYN KELLY interviews a Moron !
gyn Kelly battled Rep. Frank Pallone (D-N.J.) over President Barack Obama’s promise that all Americans would be able keep their health care plans under Obamacare, a claim that has proven to be false. While some Democratic lawmakers have admitted the president should have been more clear about the regulations, Obama and other administration officials are blaming insurance companies for causing what is predicted to be as many as 10 million Americans to lose their individual plans.
Rep. Pallone made the latter argument, telling Kelly that insurance companies got “caught” selling “lousy” plans that offered little coverage at a high cost. Under Obamacare, the companies will now offer what he says are better plans at an “affordable price.”
“But that’s only partially true,” Kelly argued. “Some of the insurance companies said, ‘alright I’m going to cancel the policies,’ because that happens in the insurance market. But many, many other policies…are being canceled because the regulations imposed on them by Obamacare left them with no choice.”
“That is absolutely not true,” Pallone shot back.
Kelly reminded the congressman that HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius herself admitted any insurance plan that went up by as much as $5 would not be eligible to be “grandfathered” in due to Obamacare regulations. She played the soundbite just to emphasize her point.
“The bottom line is, if you are selling a lousy policy at a price that is too high, nobody is going to buy it. And so they are canceling these policies because they know people won’t buy them. It’s a competitive marketplace, that’s the problem,” Pallone said, never addressing Sebelius’ remark.
“But they were buying them,” Kelly replied sharply. “There were 15 million people buying them…”
“But they won’t buy them anymore when they have a better alternative–” he began.
“Thanks to you! Why do you get to decide what’s lousy? Why can’t the American people say, ‘It’s lousy for you, for me, I like it,’” Kelly said.
The Democrat then claimed that Obamacare’s regulations on insurance companies represent “capitalism,” offering the American people better “alternative” with better insurance plans at a better price.
When Kelly again pressed the New Jersey congressman on Obama’s broken promise that all Americans would be able to keep their plans, Pallone said “you can’t sell it, no one is going to buy it.”
Visibly frustrated, Kelly threw her hands in the air, annoyed by her guest’s refusal to address her point.
Kelly was ready to end the interview when Pallone tried to argue that Obamacare is a “capitalist private market,” which set the TV host off.
“The capitalist private market is controlled by laws, including one called Obamacare, which imposed a bunch of regulations on them with which they must now comply, sir,” Kelly said mockingly.
“You can’t sell the policy if nobody is going to buy it because it’s lousy,” Pallone repeated yet again.
“But 15 million people did buy it! They bought it, and they were told they can keep it and now they can’t. And I gotta go, period,” Kelly concluded.
After ending the interview, a flustered Kelly told her viewers: “I tried.”

Obamacare provision will allow 'forced' home inspections by gov't agents
Citing the Heath and Human Services website, a report posted Wednesday at the Freedom Outpost says that under Obamacare, government agents can engage in "home health visits" for those in certain “high-risk” categories.
Those categories include:
• Families where mom is not yet 21;
• Families where someone is a tobacco user;
• Families where children have low student achievement, developmental delays, or disabilities, and
• Families with individuals who are serving or formerly served in the armed forces, including such families that have members of the armed forces who have had multiple deployments outside the United States.
According to HHS, the visits fall under what is called the "Maternal, Infant and Early Childhood Home Visiting Program" allegedly designed to “help parents and children,” and could impact millions of Americans.
Constitutional attorney and author Kent Masterson Brown said that despite what HHS says, the program is not “voluntary."
"The eligible entity receiving the grant for performing the home visits is to identify the individuals to be visited and intervene so as to meet the improvement benchmarks," he said. "A homeschooling family, for instance, may be subject to 'intervention' in 'school readiness' and 'social-emotional developmental indicators.' A farm family may be subject to 'intervention' in order to 'prevent child injuries.' The sky is the limit."
Joshua Cook said that while the administration would claim the program only applies to those on Medicaid, the new law, by its own definition, has no such limitation.
"Intervention," he added, quoting Brown, "may be with any family for any reason. It may also result in the child or children being required to go to certain schools or taking certain medications and vaccines and even having more limited – or no – interaction with parents. The federal government will now set the standards for raising children and will enforce them by home visits.”
According to Cook, the program will require collection of a massive amount of private information including all sources of income and the amount gathered from each source.
One of the areas of emphasis mentioned by HHS is the "development of comprehensive early childhood systems that span the prenatal-through-age-eight continuum."
Last session, Cook added, South Carolina State Rep. Bill Chumley introduced a measure that would make the forced home visitations illegal in his state. The measure passed in the House but died in the Senate.
In 2011, he noted, HHS said $224 million would be allocated to support these home visiting programs.

Army Capt. Will Swenson - Extraordinary footage shows selfless war hero in action
Battlefield footage taken in eastern Afghanistan four years ago depicts the heart and heroism of former Army Capt. Will Swenson, who will soon receive the nation’s highest wartime award, the Medal of Honor.
The video was taken during the horrific Battle of Ganjgal on Sept. 8, 2009, when U.S. troops were ambushed by Taliban forces. Then-Marine Sgt. Dakota Meyer’s valor that day earned him a Medal of Honor two years ago, according to Military Times.
The raw footage, taken by an Army National Guard sergeant and given to CBS News, shows Swenson repeatedly risking his life until the last of his men, both living and dead, are taken care of.
Especially touching is the moment when, after bringing in Sgt. First Class Kenneth Westbrook aboard a medevac helicopter, Swenson kisses him on the forehead before rushing off to retrieve the next of his men.
Swenson is scheduled to receive the Medal of Honor from President Obama on Oct. 15.
This next clip is the actual raw battlefield footage, taken by California National Guard Sgt. Kevin Durst.

Cuba 2012 Documentary
Adventurer and journalist Simon Reeve heads to Cuba to find a communist country in the middle of a capitalist revolution. Two years ago Cuba announced the most sweeping and radical economic reforms the country has seen in decades. From ending state rationing to cutting one million public-sector jobs, one of the last communist bastions in the world has begun rolling back the state on an unprecedented scale. Simon Reeve meets ordinary Cubans whose lives are being transformed, from the owners of fledgling businesses to the newly rich estate agents selling properties worth up to 750,000 pounds.
In this hour-long documentary for the BBC's award-winning This World strand, Simon gets under the skin of a colourful and vibrant country famous for its hospitality and humour and asks if this new economic openness could lead to political liberalisation in a totalitarian country with a poor human rights record. Will Cuba be able to maintain the positive aspects of its long isolation under socialism - low crime, top-notch education and one of the best health systems in the world - while embracing what certainly looks like capitalism? Is this the last chance to see Cuba before it becomes just like any other country?

Psychiatric Patient Brutally Beaten by Police
Porfirio Santos-Lopez, 46, is a father of three. At 6:00 p.m., Monday, September 2, he was involved in an altercation with another man. According to the LA Times, surveillance video showed Santos-Lopez hitting another man in the head. Police were called and approached him. That’s when the surveillance video begins to show police driving Porfirio between two squad cars, then knocking him to the ground, tasing him repeatedly as he was beaten by police. Having successfully subdued Porfirio, the police then yelled at him to roll onto his stomach. Witnesses say that Santos-Lopez inquired why they wanted him to do so. At this point, you can witness what happened in the video below as he was beaten by police. WARNING! GRAPHIC!
Viewing the video, you get the sense that the woman taping it is frightened as she saw Santos-Lopez beaten by police. At times, she begins to weep and shakes throughout. She cringes whenever the officers hit the man with their batons, which they do on both his legs with all their might, his torso, collapsing one of his lungs, and breaking one of his arms – all after having him on his back. Sure, the officers say they told Santos-Lopez to roll onto his stomach, which he refused to do, but there were more than half-a-dozen blue suits simply standing around watching him being beaten by police, allowing the bone crunching beating and repeated use of a Taser.
According to Larry Smith, a use-of-force expert and retired Fontana police sergeant and former training specialist: …he must not have been that violent, because otherwise the other officers would have jumped in. They could have always just dog-piled him and then you’re not hitting him with a baton. Smith also wanted to know why the officers didn’t just move in to handcuff the alleged criminal after they had used a Taser on him. As with any police brutality investigation, other experts disagreed with Smith, stating that all the facts of the altercation were not available on the 4 and a half minute video. Greg Meyer, another use-of-force expert, and a former LAPD captain said that the baton use shown seemed to follow protocol. Baton or metal pipe beatings are not unprecedented by any means.
You may remember Meyer as an expert witness in the Rodney King case. He later wrote a scathing review of police procedures during that time in America’s history where he stated that “billy-club confrontations” were a tactic of first resort with police, and in subsequent cases, stated that other procedures, like pepper spray, should be used first so as not to incense bystanders seeing a person beaten by police.
One may remember that, as brutal as Rodney King’s beating was, expert use-of-force witnesses on either side of the case maintained that a suspect being beaten by police was standard practice and within proper police protocol. Regardless of expert analysis of the police tactics used, watching the video causes one to wonder if protocol shouldn’t be changed. Having someone beaten by police with batons may be a good tactic if he is a violent individual and attacking the officer making the arrest. But this isn’t the case here.
Santos-Lopez was on his back with his legs up as thousands of volts of electricity coursed through his body with police officers surrounding him. As Larry Smith stated, there is no reason these officers could not have flipped him over, forcibly hand-cuffed him, and carried him to a squad car. He didn’t have to be beaten by police to comply. He would have been on his way to a hospital to get the psychiatric help he needed, with minimal cuts and bruises.

Active Duty Soldier Illegally Disarmed and Arrested
On March 16, 2013, my son and I were hiking along country roads among pastures and fields with my 15-year old son to help him earn his hiking merit badge. I always enjoy these father/son hikes because it gives me time alone with my son. As I always do when we go on these hikes and walks, I took my trusty rifle with me as there are coyotes, wild hogs, and cougars in our area. In Texas, it is legal to openly carry a rifle or shotgun as long as you do so in a manner that isn't calculated to cause alarm. In other words, you can't walk around waving your rifle at people. I always carry my rifle slung across my chest dangling, not holding it in my hands.
At about the 5 mile mark of our hike, a voice behind us asked us to stop and the officer motioned for us to approach him. He got out of his car and met us a few feet later. He asked us what we were doing and I explained that we were hiking for my son's merit badge. He then asked me what I'm doing with the rifle, to which I responded in a calm manner, "Does it matter, officer? Am I breaking the law?"
At that point, the officer grabbed my rifle without warning or indication. He didn't ask for my rifle and he didn't suggest he would take it from me. He simply grabbed it. This startled me and I instantly pulled back - the rifle was attached to me - and I asked what he thought he was doing because he's not taking my rifle. He then pulled his service pistol on me and told me to take my hands off the weapon and move to his car, which I complied with. He then slammed me into the hood of his car and I remembered I had a camera on me (one of the requirements of the hiking merit badge is to document your hikes). This video is the rest of that encounter. Up to this point, I am not told why I am being stopped, why he tried to disarm me, or even that I'm under arrest.
We did not set out that Saturday morning to "make a point" or cause problems. Our goal was to complete a 10-mile hike and return home without incident. My son chose a route that away from populated areas but near our home.
The arresting officer is Officer Steve Ermis and the supervisor is Sergeant Minnicks of the Temple Police Department.

Obama: ‘Trayvon Could Have Been Me 35 Years Ago’
Obama explicitly called upon the states to rethink so-called Stand Your Ground laws. Obama asked his audience to consider “[i]f Trayvon Martin was of age and armed, could he have stood his ground on that sidewalk?” And noted that if they are uncomfortable with a world where Martin “would have been justified in shooting Mr. Zimmerman who had followed him in a car” because Martin felt threatened,” then perhaps it would make sense to rethink Stand Your Ground Laws.
The President concluded on a high note — “I don’t want us to lose sight that things are getting better.” But his statement suggests an increased federal role in preventing incidents such as the one that claimed Martin’s life, and it likely represents his most personal remarks on the subject of race since the “More Perfect Union” address he delivered as a presidential candidate.

HATE CRIME: 4 "Urban Youths" Killed Victim by Brutally Beating Him & Forcing Him on Incoming Traffic
MABLETON, Ga. - Cobb County police have arrested four alleged gang members linked to a fatal hit-and-run crash on Mableton Parkway.
The suspects are accused of beating the victim and then forcing him into the path of a car.
The fatal crash happened just after 1 a.m. Sunday, near Factory Shoals Road and Mableton Parkway. Joshua Heath Chellew, 36, of Mableton was struck by a vehicle and later died.
Authorities said Chellew did not know his attackers. A friend of Chellew said that the two had gone to a gas station when several men jumped Chellew.
"They started punching him. They starting beating on him," said the woman, who asked not to be identified.
Arrest warrants said that the Chellew attempted to escape his attackers by backing into Mableton Parkway. Chellew was then knocked down onto the roadway, where he was struck by the vehicle.
The following four suspects are charged with felony murder, aggravated assault and violation of the Georgia Street Gang Act. They are currently being held without bond at the Cobb County Adult Detention Center.
- Jekari Strozier (19-year-old male from Mableton, Georgia)
- Antonio Pass (18-year-old male from Mableton, Georgia)
- Johnathan Anthony (18-year-old male from the Mableton, Georgia)
- Kemonta Bonds (18-year-old male from Mableton, Georgia)
Anthony made his first court appearance Tuesday night. The other three suspects are expected to face a judge on Wednesday.
The driver of the vehicle that struck Chellew turned himself into authorities. Police said that he does not face any criminal charges. Authorities said he did pull over and call 911 after he realized that he'd struck someone.
Thousands protest Zimmerman verdict across U.S
Thousands of demonstrators demanding "Justice for Trayvon" marched in major cities across the United States on Sunday to protest the acquittal of George Zimmerman in the shooting death of unarmed black teenager Trayvon Martin.
While a jury of six women absolved Zimmerman of any crime with their not-guilty verdict, civil rights leaders decried the decision, and demonstrators took to the streets in New York, Boston, San Francisco and other cities.
U.S. President Barack Obama called for a peaceful response to the case that has polarized the U.S. public over the past 16 months. In general, the demonstrations were peaceful, though the New York march became disorderly at times, and in Los Angeles protesters blocked a major highway.
Defense lawyers argued that Martin, 17, attacked Zimmerman, who shot the teen in self-defense. Prosecutors said Zimmerman, 29, who is white and Hispanic, wrongly suspected Martin of being a criminal because he was black.
Zimmerman called police to report a suspicious looking person, then left his car with a fully loaded Kel Tec 9mm pistol concealed in his waistband. A fight ensued in which Zimmerman suffered a bloody nose and head injuries, and then shot Martin once in the heart, killing him.
"Trayvon was profiled, pursued and ultimately killed because of the color of his skin," said Angela Tovar, 33, an urban planner from Brooklyn.
About 1,000 to 2,000 of the demonstrators abandoned the protest site at Union Square to march in the streets toward Times Square, slowing or stopping traffic.
Police attempted to funnel the crowd into controlled lanes but were unable to. Later they halted the march about eight blocks short of Times Square, but the demonstrators made their way around the officers.
About 1,000 people sat in Times Square, drawing curious looks from the tourists who packed the so-called Crossroads of the World.
The protest was lively, led by several men on bullhorns.
The Los Angeles protest stopped traffic for about 25 minutes, prompting police to issue a citywide tactical alert, the Los Angeles Times reported.
In Boston, about 500 racially mixed protesters left their demonstration site in the Roxbury neighborhood and started marching in the streets alongside police escorts on motorcycles and on foot. Police called the march "very orderly."
"Morally it cannot be right, that a child cannot go about his business and go to the store," said Maura Twomey, 57, an acupuncturist. "Racism is not just an issue for the black community. It's for all of us."
Demonstrators raised signs saying "We Demand Justice," "Stop Racial Profiling" and "Never Forget. Never Again. Justice for Trayvon."
Roughly 500 people rallied on the streets of San Francisco, some carrying yellow signs with Martin's photo. About a dozen police motorcycles and vans trailed the tidy group of marchers, who banged on drums as they walked and continuously chanted, "Justice for Trayvon Martin."
"I feel a moral obligation to be in the street and object to this kind of racist policy," said Naomi White, 69, a retired teacher from San Francisco. "George Zimmerman got away with murder."

IS THIS PRO-LIFE AD REALLY ‘TOO CONTROVERSIAL’? SEVERAL MAJOR NEWSPAPERS SAY YES AND REFUSED TO RUN IT
Several major U.S. newspapers reportedly refused to run a pro-life ad showing what a 20 to 24-week-old baby looks like in a woman’s womb. The ad was rejected for being “too controversial,” LifeSiteNews.com reports.
The Chicago Tribune, USA Today and the LA Times refused to run the advertisement created by Heroic Media, a national pro-life organization.
The ad, pictured below, features a hand holding a 20 to 24-week old baby accompanied by text that reads, “This child has no voice, which is why it depends on yours. Speak up.”
Heroic Media Executive Director Joe Young said he was shocked and angered that the media outlets were willing to talk about the issue but were unwilling to show the reality of life at 20 weeks.
“I am disturbed that these papers would run article after article promoting the notion that abortion is a victimless act without consequences,” Young said. “The fact remains, children who are unique individuals – never again to be duplicated – are being killed in the most violent way imaginable and they feel the excruciating pain of that death.”
The newspapers took issue with the image of the baby.
“It seems as though it is okay to talk about the issue in general, but when you actually put a face to the discussion, then it becomes controversial,” Young said.
Young said Heroic Media created the ad after the House of Representatives passed the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, which bans abortion at or after 20 weeks and is based on research that suggests unborn babies feel pain.
The ad was designed to encourage people to contact members of the Senate and urge them to consider passing the bill.
“Americans deserve to know the truth about the children sentenced to die for no fault of their own and that we have a chance to spare some of them through this legislation,” Young said.
After initially being rejected, Heroic Media reportedly submitted a new ad with a different photo of a 20-week-old baby in utero.
The Chicago Tribune agreed to run the ad with the second image so long as it is clear it is a paid advertisement, the report adds.

Is The Electronic Cigarette Healthy? Can This Be The Future of Smoking?
The use of electronic cigarettes have recently grabbed the attention of countless tobacco users worldwide. Are they really a healthier and cheaper alternative to traditional cigarettes? Creators and product users now say you can enjoy a cheaper, healthier cigarette without the bad smells, second-hand smoke, or cancer causing chemicals. With these huge claims, we decided to investigate the electronic cigarette for our readers.
A few of the benefits claimed from using the electronic cigarette:
*No tar, tobacco, carbon monoxide, or ash.
*Get the same amount of nicotine as a regular cigarette.
*Each cartridge costs less than $2 and is equivalent to an entire pack of cigarettes.
*Average consumer can expect to save over $1,000 each year.
*You won’t “smell” like a smoker any longer.
*Different flavors are available.
*No more second-hand smoke.
We first researched exactly what expert medical doctors and product users had to say about electronic cigarettes, and the results were surprising. In fact, Joel Niztkin, Chair of the Tobacco Control Task Force for the American Association of Public Health Physicians concluded that "...if we get all tobacco smokers to switch from regular cigarettes to electronic cigarettes, we would eventually reduce the US death toll from more than 400,000 a year to less than 4,000, maybe as low as 400." (1)
It has even been suggested that while utilizing the electronic cigarette, there is virtually no risk of getting cancer. These conclusions come from studies which show that nicotine is about as equally harmful to your health as caffeine. The real harm in traditional cigarettes comes from the tobacco smoke and the hundreds of additional added chemicals.
Four very well known doctors, from the popular TV show “The Doctors”, have also studied the electronic cigarette and was featured as one of their top 10 key health trends.
“If you're one of the millions of people out there, you're addicted to smoking, there may finally be some hope for you..the electronic cigarette.
It gives you nicotine but it doesnt give you any of the other 4000 chemicals that can cause cancener among other problems."” - Dr. Travis Stork from “The Doctors” (2)
We also learned that the electronic cigarette is not encompassed by most smoking bans and regulations. With the lack of second-hand smoke, smokers are excited to find that many businesses, bars, and even air planes allow them to smoke e-cigarettes indoors. Many electronic cigarette users have also received special permission from their employers to smoke e-cigarettes in the work place.
In the United States alone, over 700,000 smokers have already switched to electronic cigarettes. The Doctors also interviewed Beverly, one of the many whose life has dramatically changed thanks to the electronic cigarette. She said that she smoked for over 15 years, and she thought that she would never quit. To her surprise though, when she tried electronic cigarettes she was able to quit smoking regular cigarettes two days later. "I was suspicious at first...but I have to say I am convinced, it's very good. Its a great alternative. it still gives you the action of smoking. I would as a smoker, reccommend it to smokers that are trying to give up (smoking)." – Beverly (3)
We have received a number of positive testimonials such as this one and we feel that as more and more Americans are made aware of this new technology, that more and more smokers will make the switch. Our interviews and research have found that the electronic cigarette will quickly become the #1 choice for smokers looking to lead a healthier lifestyle. With the high cost of smoking traditional cigarettes, and with the danger cigarettes bring to your health, we give our recommendation and “thumbs up” to anyone looking to give these devices a try.
While conducting this research, we found that Regal Ecig™ is offering a limited time RISK FREE TRIAL, along with a FULL months supply of cartidges. This is only valid while supplies last so use our exclusive link to see if this new breakthrough will help improve your life.

We thank Regal Ecig™ for providing the chance to “try it before you buy it” and a chance for thousands of smokers to make the healthier switch.
