ISIS Could Soon ‘Blow Up’ Major U.S. City

Although the White House believes that the Islamic States is not a threat to the U.S., it’s obvious that the increasingly large group of jihadists are confident they will fly their flag on American soil. In fact, the State Department has laughed off ISIS and ISIL warnings that they are at war with America, assuring that their violence is not directed at any particular country or race: “Well, they can say whatever they’d like, but what I am making clear is that’s not what ISIL represents. And they don’t represent any religion. 

They are at war with everybody they come into contact with,” State Department spokeswoman Marie Harf objected. One Senator is taking the threats seriously, warning that ISIS will attempt to carry out an attack on a major U.S. city: “We’re in the most dangerous position we’ve ever been in as a nation,” Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-OK) told Fox 25′s Phil Cross. “ISIS, they are really bad terrorists, they’re so bad even Al Qaida is afraid of them,” Inhofe said reflecting on the recent beheading of American journalist James Foley. Beyond the beheading, Inhofe said the current terror organizations are not going to stay contained to the Middle East. 

“They’re crazy out there and they’re rapidly developing a method of blowing up a major U.S. city and people just can’t believe that’s happening.” Inhofe stresses the dangerous consequences that could follow Obama’s foreign policy decisions, inaction, and major military defense spending cuts that have left America so vulnerable towards instability in the Middle East. 

 “He’s [President Obama] going to have to come up with something that we’re going to do because they’re holding another hostage in place and the problem is, the President says all these things and he never does them,” Inhofe said. With ISIS possibly holding at least four other U.S. citizens hostage, Obama must act, or we will see more Foley-style beheadings. Inhofe concluded by saying he hopes mid-term elections will result in more Republicans in the Senate to restore funding to our military.

Email James Foley’s Parents Received from ISIS Before Their Son’s Murder

The parents of James Foley, whose son was murdered at the hands of ISIS militants earlier this week, have released the horrific email they received from their son’s captors a week before he was murdered.

The disturbing letter was sent on August 12 in which the militants taunted the family and threatened to kill their son as revenge upon America for its “transgressions” against the Islamic State.

The letter read:

HOW LONG WILL THE SHEEP FOLLOW THE BLIND SHEPPARD?

A message to the American government and their sheep like citizens:

We have left you alone since your disgraceful defeat in Iraq. We did not interfere in your country or attack your citizens while they were safe in their homes despite our capability to do so!

As for the scum of your society who are held prisoner by us, THEY DARED TO ENTER THE LION’S DEN AND WHERE EATEN!

You were given many chances to negotiate the release of your people via cash transactions as other governments have accepted, We have also offered prisoner exchanges to free the Muslims currently in your detention like our sister Dr Afia Sidiqqi, however you proved very quickly to us that this is NOT what you are interested in.

You have no motivation to deal with the Muslims except with the language of force, a language you were given in “Arabic translation” when you attempted to occupy the land of Iraq! Now you return to bomb the Muslims of Iraq once again, this time resorting to Arial attacks and “proxy armies”, all the while cowardly shying away from a face-to-face confrontation!

Today our swords are unsheathed towards you, GOVERNMENT AND CITIZENS ALIKE! AND WE WILL NOT STOP UNTILL WE QUENCH OUR THIRST FOR YOUR BLOOD.

You do not spare our weak, elderly, women or children so we will NOT spare yours!

You and your citizens will pay the price of your bombings!

The first of which being the blood of the American citizen, James Foley!

He will be executed as a DIRECT result of your transgressions towards us!

The Disturbing Email James Foley’s Parents Received from ISIS Before Their Son's Murder

In previous messages, the Islamic State demanded that a ransom of $132 million be handed over in exchange for Foley’s release. Although the letter stated that the US was given “many chances” to negotiate for the release of their son and other American prisoners, the Foleys reported that they only heard directly from the terrorists a few times. In an interview with NBC’s “Today,” Diane Foley said in December a series of emails came, but then abruptly stopped until August 12 when the group proclaimed that they would be executing her son. The father, John Foley told NBC:

“I actually was excited to see an email despite the conclusion that they would execute Jim. We underestimated that point. I did not realize how brutal they were, and I actually hoped we could engage in negotiations with them if they were willing to send any sort of communication because we had none prior.”

Diane Foley shared that they received a call from Pope Francis who offered his condolences, describing him as “just so kind.”

Obama has yet to reach out to the family, but took to the golf course minutes after making a statement on the video released by ISIS of the journalist being brutally murdered.

The Spread of the Caliphate: The Islamic State

The Islamic State, a hardline Sunni jihadist group that formerly had ties to al Qaeda, has conquered large swathes of Iraq and Syria. Previously known as the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), the group has announced their intention to reestablish the caliphate and declared their leader, the shadowy Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, as the caliph.

Flush with cash and US weapons seized during recent advances in Iraq, the Islamic State’s expansion shows no sign of slowing down. In the first week of August alone, Islamic State fighters have taken over new areas in northern Iraq, encroaching on Kurdish territory and sending Christians and other minorities fleeing as reports of massacres emerged.

Elsewhere in territory it has held for some time, the Islamic State has gone about consolidating power and setting up a government dictated by Sharia law. While the world may not recognize the Islamic State, in the Syrian city of Raqqa, the group is already in the process of building a functioning regime.
