House suit against Obama fuels bipartisan Twitter rage
As a bitterly divided House of Representatives voted Wednesday to proceed with a Republican-led lawsuit against President Obama for allegedly exceeding his Constitutional authority, lawmakers on both sides vented their outrage on Twitter.

Remember back in 2010 when then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said, “we have to pass the bill in order to find out what’s in it” in reference to the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act? I’m sure some folks would say she just misspoke — something it seems liberal progressives do a lot. What went through my mind was who votes for this person? News Crew Booted From State Property for Filming Outside Empty Prison. Now, People Are Wondering Just What Is Going on There.
A news crew in Albany, New York, was filming for a seemingly innocuous report about a historical site and just so happened to have a recently closed correctional facility in its background. What happened next had the reporter, videographer and others wondering what the big deal was.
WNYT-TV was on Mount McGregor filming near an empty correctional facility Thursday for a storyabout Grant Cottage, which is where President Ulysses S. Grant died of throat cancer 129 years ago.
The news channel shot footage of a re-enactment Wednesday and went back the next day for some more video. What happened when the crew was on the state property for this second time was all caught on camera with Mount McGregor prison in the background.

Immigrants “America's Exceptionalism”

Immigrants have become more, not less important as technology grows more complex. Immigrants in the 1800s built the nation’s railroads, but today’s immigrants have built the information economy. 60% of our 25 largest tech companies were founded by first- or second-generation immigrants. Apple, IBM, Google, Oracle, Amazon, Intel, Ebay, EMC, Texas Instruments, VMware, ADP, Yahoo!, are all children of the Statue of Liberty. Most of our best jobs are the result of immigrant brainstorms… even to look for a job we use LinkedIn, founded by an immigrant.
Scapegoating Immigrants: Good Politics, Bad Logic
So why are immigrants blamed for our economic problems? Because as politicians before and after Hitler have known, scapegoating “foreigners” is the easiest path to political success. Also, it’s the safest… it takes no bravery to attack working-class immigrants, rather than facing up to the wealthy corporate-welfare interests.
So, let’s go through the various economic fallacies used to blame working people for the collapse of the US economy…
We are all immigrants or children of immigrants, whether our ancestors traveled by 747 or walked across the Bering Land Bridge. If we are going to fulfill the Founding Fathers’ dreams, we will do it as a nation of immigrants.

Sean Hannity: ‘It’s Time for a Wake-Up Call’
Conservative Fox News host Sean Hannity delivered a blistering message directed at President Barack Obama Friday night over his leadership following the downing of a Malaysia Airlines passenger jet and Israel’s ground offensive in Gaza.
“It is shocking to see a president of the United States, the free world, with such a lack of urgency and priorities,” Hannity said. “So I say to the president tonight: It is time for action, it’s time for urgency. It is time for you to get engaged.”
Hannity then skewered the president over his handling of domestic matters.
“Veterans – the people we should be taking care of the most, they have lost faith in the federal government. Where is the urgency after learning that our vets are dying because of lack of care that we promised them?” he asked. “Where is the urgency to fix that? None of this should come as a surprise. This is what happens when the federal government gets too involved. “
He concluded his monologue telling Obama it’s to “wakeup.”
“Mr. President, why don’t you consider the events of these past 24 hours to be a very, very costly and deadly wake up call,” Hannity said. “And while all this was happening yesterday, you spent 40 seconds dealing with the killing of nearly 300 innocent people and for your secretary of state to tell Israel to restrain itself again and again. It’s time for a wakeup call.”

That’s what Eric Garner struggled to say as one New York Police Department officer held him by the neck from behind while others found the hands of the 43-year-old father of six, cuffing them behind his back.
“I didn’t do nothing,” Garner initially argued with a plain clothes officer on Staten Island Thursday afternoon.
“I didn’t sell anything,” he added a moment later.
The New York Daily News reported that the police said Garner has a history of selling untaxed cigarettes and has been arrested for doing so before. The New York Post reported that Garner had 30 arrests on his record for selling the cigarettes illegally. This is what police said they saw Garner doing Thursday, sparking the altercation.
“They jumped him and they were choking him. He was foaming at the mouth,” Orta told the Daily News. “And that’s it, he was done. The cops were saying, ‘No, he’s OK, he’s OK.’ He wasn’t OK.”
Garner could be heard telling police he couldn’t breathe at least eight times.
The NYPD would only tell the Daily News that Garner was “placed in custody, went into cardiac arrest and died” at the hospital where he was transported.
Garner’s wife, Esaw, isn’t buying it though.
“They’re covering their asses. He was breaking up a fight,” Esaw Garner told the Daily News. “They harassed and harassed my husband until they killed him.”
A man who only wanted to go on the record with the Daily News with his first name, Douglas, described Garner as an “intimidating” man because of his size but said he was really “just a big teddy bear.”

Rick Perry Rejects Obama’s Offer to Shake His Hand on the Tarmac
Texas Gov. Rick Perry (R) has reportedly rejected President Barack Obama’s offer to briefly shake hands when Air Force One lands in Austin on Wednesday. Instead, the governor came back with a counteroffer.
“I appreciate the offer to greet you at Austin-Bergstrom Airport, but a quick handshake on the tarmac will not allow for a thoughtful discussion regarding the humanitarian and national security crises enveloping the Rio Grande Valley in South Texas,” Perry wrote in a letter to Obama. “I would instead offer to meet with you at any time during your visit to Texas for a substantive meeting to discuss this critical issue.”
